Movie Review: Country Stronger(Warning Spoiler Alert)

I was SO looking forward to this movie. I had heard nothing but how amazing it was and how I would just love and HAD to see it...... Well I wish i hadn't seen it.... It was HORRIBLE. The only good thing about it was the music...  Its definitely not one Id ever recommend to anyone. It was so depressing and just plain weird.

Im going to tell you right now if you are planning on watching this movie to STOP reading this right now because Im going to tell all about it and I dont want to ruin it for anyone who is planning on watching it.

Spoiler Alerts ahead......

I seriously still can't wrap my head around this movie. I think they were shooting for something like Walk The Line, which I actually did like that one, maybe because it was based onn real events and real people... okay and PROBABLY because Tyler Hilton made a small appearnce in it.

Tyler Hilton couldn't have saved this movie for me. The whole thing was just depressing. The main character Kelly Canter, played by Gwyneth Paltrow, can't get her life together even after months in rehab. It doesn't help that her husband (Tim McGraw) pulled her out a month early and keeps pushing her when shes not ready and is a complete jerk. she bombs the first couple concerts shes scheduled for (or doesnt show). The whole time shes having an affair with one of the opening acts (whom she met in rehab, he was an orderly or something). She finally has one good performance in Dallas where her life originally came to a screeching halt in the first place, Its the performance of a life time..... You think good for her, she's finally going to be okay. She's made. She's Happy. She has her life back.... And then.... after the performance while every one is at the after party, she locks herself in her dressing room and swallows a bottle of pills. Yup she kills herself......Such a horrible movie. The acting was good, the music was good..... The story line was AWFUL.

The only good scene in it, besides her final perfomance, was when she went and visited with a little boy at a Make A Wish performance and sings him a little song and dances with him... It was adorable. The movie needed more moments like this. The little boy who had leukemia was a doll. But the whole scene just seemed out of place with the rest of the movie.

Leighton Meester and Garret Hedlunds characters were good, I wish they had continued their story together a little bit more! Im glad they ended up together in the end. They could make a movie about their love story. It would be good. Acutally worth watching.

Thats all I have to say about this movie. I hated it. Don't recommend it at all!
